About Quran Karim
The Quran is the sacred scripture which is held in great esteem by one and half billion Muslims around the globe today.
It is supposed to be the verbatim words of Allah Almighty, which have been revealed to the Holy Prophet (Sallalla—Ho-Wa-Wali-Ho-Ahmed Wassallam) in the span of 23 years.
Acting both as a spiritual leader and as the encyclopedia of life, the Quran contains the answers to all human vices and all life problems as well as ethical, social and personal dilemmas that occupy people’s minds. Indeed for Muslims the Quran is much more than a religious text rather it is a guide on how to live their lives.
The book is a guide and a source of inspiration that was sent from divine authority that concerns everyone and anything in the universe.
Structure of the Quran
The Quran has 114 sections of different length called Surahs. This is further divided in 30 equal parts known as juza, to make it easier for the Quran to be read or memorized. This structure makes it accessible for daily reflection and spiritual practice.
Surahs are broadly classified into two categories:
- Makki Surahs: These chapters particularly revealed in Mecca stress more on (Tawheed) and theory of life after death as well as moralities. They both are intended to enhance an individual belief and dependence on Allah.
- Madani Surahs: Appearing in Medina, these chapters discuss social laws, creating a society, and principles of governing as the Muslim community expands.
The Language of the Quran is also classical Arabic – a language acclaimed to be the most stylistically superior language in the linguistic sphere. Its rhythm has remained musical for all and the hidden messages are still meaningful to anybody, and those who do not understand Arabic.Quran Karim

Revelation of the Quran
The holy Quran which is the word of Allah to Muslims was revealed in the form of guidance to the last prophet Muhammad S.A.W by the Angel Jibreel (Gabriel) about 23 years in the early seventh century of Christian era. This particular style of revelation favoured the notion of advising in response to scenarios of the nascent Muslim society.
Every verse or Surah contains a connection with the actual incidents of life and contained guidance and direction at an appropriate time. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was the one who with his practical actions as an exemplary model taught his people how to implement the laws of the sacred book, the Quran Karim.
Compilation and Preservation
That we still have the Quran with us today is evidence enough that it is from God. In the lifetime of the Prophet, the Quran was committed to writing and to memory, and was written on things juragan like the leaves of palms, the bones of animals, and skins of animals and other materials. These recordings were then compiled into one manuscript after the first Caliph, As-Siddiq, Abu Bakr on his demise.
A little later during the caliphate of Uthman four copies of the Quran were put together and produced thereby copies were made and distributed to all the centers of the Islamic state. This ensured consistency in recitation and eliminated regional variations. Today, the Quran is still the same, millions of Muslims memorize it and it is completely memorized and safe for future generations as Hafiz.Quran Karim
The Quran in Daily Life
The Quran is the guide of Muslims in their daily life. Its verses are part of prayer recited during Salah five times a day as a Daily decree of faith to the believers. Apart from leading in prayer, the Quran provides rules on decision making and ethical quandaries.
Tadabbur is the reflection on several Quranic verses and besides helping one to gain a deeper understanding into the verses it makes the connection with Allah stronger.
